La structure de liaison, généralement en béton armé, est l'élément de fondation disposé entre l'ouvrage à porter et les pieux porteurs; elle a pour but de réduire la solution de continuité qui existe inévitablement entre ces deux structures distinctes [...] Une structure de liaison doit d'abord assurer une parfaite transmission aux pieux porteurs des charges provenant de la structure. Elle doit ensuite empêcher tout mouvement horizontal des têtes de pieux lors de l'application des charges et des surcharges.
